Liberty Watch wrongly reported the Independent American Party's stance on immigration

I just read the article on Ron Paul in Liberty Watch ["Lone Star Libertarian," May 2006]. Very nice interview. It was sure wonderful to get the chance to listen to him even if he is more of an Independent American than a Libertarian. (Even Ron    Paul can make a mistake.) I was, however, somewhat offended by the line "...confident enough to believe that people of Mexican descent will interpret their group's anti-immigration stance on purely ideological, rather than emotional, grounds."
We [Independent Americans] are NOT anti-immigration. We are pro-immigration. We think immigration is great for America.
What we oppose is ILLEGAL immigration. That is like the difference between being opposed to illegal voting and legal voting. We certainly do not oppose legal voting. If we opposed dead people voting, would you say our party hosted an anti-voting stance? If we opposed illegal use of firearms, would that mean we were anti-Second Amendment? If we were opposed to drunk driving, would that mean we were opposed to driving? I am sure you get my point.
We oppose ILLEGAL immigration. That does not mean we have an anti-immigration stance.
We do have a stance of anti-voting by the dead. We have an anti-illegal use of guns stance. We have an anti-drunk driving stance. But we do not have an anti-immigration stance.
I hope you will print a retraction.

Why fight unions? Oh yeah, their purpose is extinct

Unions fought for the eight-hour day. They fought for the minimum wage. Good job, but it's a job more than complete.
In today's work environment, things are great. Company execs realize that more money goes toward taking care of their most valuable asset - employees. They, especially in this city, ensure that tourism and business flourishes. Companies pay employees well for that to be the case. The article in April ["Under the Knife"] did a good job explaining why this is even the case outside the hospitality industry.
Unions these days are nothing but money makers for those in charge of unions. They claim to unite workers, yet all they do is exploit them. Sounds like government.
