UNDELIVERED
Democrats fail to fire all political propaganda
BY LEWIS WHITTEN

Despite inspirational "Get Out The Vote" propaganda posted at the Clark County Democratic headquarters and energetic staff members cheering "Dina Titus" a half hour before the polls closed Nov. 7, the party failed to win their big tickets. The reason for their loss was piled in every corner the room.

As an unbiased onlooker, I couldn't help but wonder if the Clark County Democrats really wanted gubernatorial candidate Dina Titus and congressional candidate Tessa Hafen to win. They certainly didn't fire every bullet in their arsenal of political propaganda.

There were boxes filled with flyers and door hangers in every corner of the Democratic headquarters on Vegas Valley Drive, east of Maryland Parkway. Thousands of handouts were piled on a table near the entrance, as if they were expecting a mob of voters to show up and grab them.

One staff member said they printed too many. Well, that's nothing to brag about either.

A stack of boxes filled with door hangers near a worktable told another story. The door hangers had "VOTE TODAY" stickers covering the early voting schedule. What a waste of time that sticker project was.

It would appear that none of those "VOTE TODAY" door hangers even made it out of the office. Voters in the Casa Vegas Apartments right next door to the Democratic Headquarters didn't even receive them.

In races that required effort, versus Republican mishaps, Democrats sponsored laziness. They had money to print endless handouts, but didn't have the drive to deliver them.

According to a staff member, Democrats are planning to move to a bigger office for the next election. That's just what they need: bigger headquarters for a bumbling enterprise. Perhaps its because they need more storage space.

When you consider the staff, the volunteers and the funds available to major parties, this type of situation is inexcusable. It's a war out there, and when Election Day is over, every bomb should have been dropped. LW
