French's abortion column raises many questions

Doug French:
Your article ["Abortion: Whose issue is it?" November] brought to mind the following thoughts: If all unwanted fetuses are evicted to another residence, would that mean all fetuses have the right to life? What happens if the fetus has a medical issue that would permanently affect its quality of life? Once moved to the new residence, does the nurturing facility have the right to terminate the fetus if it is not deemed a potentially viable human? Would the issue now become "survival of the fittest" - provide the exact conditions of the womb and see if the fetus thrives, with no extraordinary contributions of science?
Would it then become the doctor's responsibility to report the potential wanted/unwanted status of all pregnancies? Do physicians now become detectives?
Who pays for this? As in most rental properties, is the womb's landlord financially and legally responsible for the costs of the eviction (and perhaps term care) of the trespasser? What about the financial responsibilities of that testosterone "knock on the door" who contributed to the unwanted resident in the first place?
Will there now be a Special Pregnancy Eviction & Residential Management (SPERM tax) applied to our 1040 each year? Will that be an optional contribution - you know, just like the fund for presidential elections.

Take your publication and shove its conservative message!

I received a copy of Liberty Watch and I don't know how I got on your subscription list, but please take me off it immediately. I don't want to receive your magazine ever again. Thank you.

Nice touch with your Hot & Not List last month

I'm still in tears (of laughter) at the image of Jon Ralston driving a beat-up convertible with a six pack in the backseat. December's cover story proved to be a quick, enjoyable read to welcome the New Year and the next legislative circus act, courtesy of our fearless lawmakers.
