(LOW) TAX MAN
Meet one Nevada Assembly candidate who signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge

There are many important issues facing Southern Nevada, and as a candidate vying to be the voice of Nevada Assembly District 21 in Carson City, Jon Ozark is firmly committed to the following issues:

Fighting for lower taxes: Nevada pays enough in taxes, and that is why Ozark has signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge to not raise taxes.

Combating illegal immigration: To Ozark, this country is a nation of immigrants, but also a nation of laws that need to be enforced.

Delivering safe and affordable healthcare: Nevada is 43rd in doctors per capita and has the fewest nurses per capita. To Ozark, this state must attract more qualified health professionals to provide essential, safe health care to the community.

Advocating for local control of education: Nevada needs to grant more authority to teachers to teach our children by expanding charter and empowerment schools, which drive innovation and achievement in the classroom.

Encouraging entrepreneurship and preserving an exceptional business climate: I believe small businessmen and women should be encouraged to provide jobs, instead of being taxed for every new job they create.

Finding solutions to alleviate traffic congestion: Traffic costs, both in high gas prices and wasted time. Nevadas infrastructure planning must look forward to our anticipated growth, instead of haphazardly reacting to it.

Promoting smart growth initiatives: Given Nevadas fragile water situation, the state must provide incentives to everyday Nevadans to encourage sensible conservation.

It is because of my deep-rooted belief in public service that I have made the decision to seek this important office, Ozark says on his website. Over the last several months, I have spent a considerable amount of time talking with citizens across the district as a Republican volunteer for the caucuses, as a taxpayers advocate, and as a citizen registering people to vote. And after listening to people across our neighborhood, I learned a few things. I know you are frustrated by gridlock in government. I know you are angry about illegal immigration. And I know you are tired of paying a lot of taxes and feeling like you are getting nothing in return.

Through this process, Ozark has come to realize that the people of the 21st district need more honest representation and need new ideas. We need conservative principles. And we need leadership that other lawmakers and policy makers will respect, he says.

As a citizen assemblyman, Ozark promises to speak loudly and boldly about the issues concerning Nevada. I will support those in Carson City who want to keep our taxes low. I will speak loudly about finding real solutions to our traffic and growth woes. And I will be sure that illegal immigrants dont abuse the hardworking taxpayer.
