THE ISSUES

Post Office

The media is incapable of uncovering real political crimes
Mr. Zigler,
Unfortunately, the imbecilic qualities of your condemnation column points toward the fact that George Bush is merely one of you, and you, he [Punish the Prez, July].
In sending this response, Im tired of the crybaby ADD/ADHD out-of-power whiners who are more than happy to be just like the politicians they criticize.
Id like, just for kicks, to hear one of you from the left or the right, far or near, to list your impeachment high crimes and misdemeanors without making me laugh and know that youre a lying political fool. It just wont happen, will it? It wont be anything weve heard in the media a thousand times, nor anything in your column, either. Like it was with the Teflon Prez. The real crimes arent spoken of in the public idiots domain you inhabit.
We had the Repubs go gonzo on Slick Willie for the wrong thing, and now the left and the Libertarian right does an even better job of wailing and moaning for removal, while the dogs of Congress continue their endless trampling on the U.S. Constitution and insane misinterpretation of the same.
Some day, real leaders of reform will point toward the Congress, where almost all the real action originates and occurs (or fails to just as often), and demand justice for We The People, with as much vigor and hate as they show for each President the easiest of targets with the slimiest of lies from the accusers. (Why is it I never learned of Clintons real high crimes and misdemeanors until he was out of office?)
I sure hope that day comes soon.
The Congress gets away with a lot more than the SCOTUS or the POTUS does, consistently shirking their responsibilities and destroying the foundations the U.S. Constitution, while all you haters grovel before the oval office whining out your latest agreed-upon lies.
Im so sick of you people, just like Henry Hydes gigantic rumpus made me sick when he creaked and quaked about Clinton.
The real crimes are always missed by you people.
Its a shame, since you all lead the discussion.
Phillip Conley

Mike Ziglers writing seems to be improving
I really enjoyed your wine piece [After-dinner celebration, August]. It seems as if youve really settled into your own unique style. It suits you well. Your writing keeps getting better and better. I hope that things are going well for you.
